It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jamay Elizabeth Vilas, who departed this life on July 14, 2025, at her home in Morgan City, Louisiana. She was born on January 3, 1977, also in Morgan City, and lived her life in the heart of the community she loved.
Jamay is remembered for her unwavering spirit and positivity, often describing herself as "the May May: a blind guiding star… Just trying to keep positive in a negative world," striving to bring light and encouragement to those around her in a challenging world. Despite facing personal obstacles, her strength and resolve served as an inspiration to many. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her love of the Muppets, music, and movies, which were a constant source of joy and inspiration to her.
She is survived by her parents Jack and Christian Vilas, and her beloved siblings, Logan Vilas and Jane Vilas, who will cherish her memory forever.
