Mr. James Bernard Barnette, 88, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his residence. Freeman Hood Funeral Services has been entrusted with his care.
Mr. Barnette is preceded in death by his parents John James & Clara Barnette; and siblings Hubbert Barnette, Herman Barnette, Henry Barnette, J.E. Barnette, Cora McPherson, Lucille Cleburne, Luella Posey, Willy Edge,
Lorezea Barnette, Olen Barnette, L.T. Barnette, Faye Bennifield, Roy Dyer, Cecil Dyer, Dean Griffin, Flora Clay, Howard Barnette, Tommy Barnette, Jean Drake, and Faye Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Jackie Barnette; daughters Jamie Barnette, Suzannah Barnette, and Sally Kirkland (Jeff); sons Jeremy Barnette, Jim Barnette (Gina), and Jonathan Barnette (Kathy); sisters Ann Smith (Terry), Joyce Brown, and Betty Nix; sisters-in-law Eloise Barnette and Jean Dyer; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pall Bearers will be Myles Castillo, Nathan Castillo, Logan Castillo, Sergio Castillo, Jeffery Kirkland, Benjamin Escobar, and Makhi Richey
Services: Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sanctuary Church of God on Fall City Road, with funeral services following at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Boldo Memory Gardens. Keith Banks will officiate.
