James T. (Ted) Blake passed away peacefully at home on March 6th, 2025. He was born on June 15th, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio. His parents were Glenn Warder Blake and Doris Reynolds Blake. He had 1 Brother and 2 sisters that passed away shortly after birth. Ted spent his life in service to others. He was a fireman, police officer and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Saratoga, then later joined the U.S. Army where he retired in 1995. He then joined the Sheriff’s Department in Richmond Count and Borrow County where he retired after 10 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janice (Hearndon) Blake and 3 daughters, Faith Riedeman (Brad), Shannon McMullan (Piers Wong) and Erin Blake (Charles Tucker)

A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church on Wheeler Road, Augusta, on Saturday, March 15th at 11:00am with military honors in the memorial gardens. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

He has 7 grandchildren: Jordon, Brittany, Brooke, T.J., Jackson, Riley and Chase and 4 great grandchildren: Alexis, Bradley, Grace and Olive

Ted will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who knew him.
