Funeral services for Mr. James J. Bolton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Mora, with Reverend Corky Bolton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mora, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Bolton, 79, of Flatwoods, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-tending to his garden, nurturing his flower beds, and shooting a game of pool. His gentle spirit and love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Bolton; one daughter, Jennifer Bolton Martin; his parents, Versie Lee and Tishie Bolton; three brothers, Leo Bolton, Ronnie Bolton, and Roy Bolton; one sister, Joy Allman; and one great grandson, Lil' Allen.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one daughter, Laura Bolton Bass (Harlis) of Boyce; two brothers, Francis Bolton of Mora, and C.D. Bolton of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Debbie White (Rupert) of Leesville, and Evelyn Dauzart of Leesville; one granddaughter, Laurie Mullins; and two grandsons, Eric Troquille, and Allen Bennett (Tamara).
A time of visitation will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Mora, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
