In Loving Memory of James Todd Brannon, Sr.
James "Jim" Todd Brannon, Sr., age 90, passed peacefully on the evening of July 23, 2025.
Born in McLain, Mississippi, Jim was one of seven children raised by Uler Lee (Todd) and Bertis B. Brannon. A proud alumnus of McLain High School, Jim devoted 37 years of service to General Motors, working in both Detroit, Michigan, and Martinsburg, West Virginia. He retired in 1990 to his birthplace with his wife, Violet.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Violet (Orr) Brannon; their four children, Darlene Brannon Lewis, Doug Besaw (Vicki), Michelle Shoemaker (Jimmy), and James Todd Brannon, Jr.; nine cherished grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Samuel Brannon (Tina).
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: George Wendell Brannon, Benny Lou Battles, Betty Rose Gieger, Eleanor Ruth Brasher, and William Charles Brannon, as well as his son-in-law Randy Lewis.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or public service will be held. The family invites those who wish to honor Jim's memory to consider a contribution to the school supplies drive for the McLain Attendance Center or a charity of your choice. These gestures of kindness carry forward the spirit of generosity and care that defined his life.
