James C. “Chuck” Crowell, Sr., 57, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Saturday evening, January 18, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on August 18, 1967, in Decatur, Indiana to Robert “Bob” and Marilyn R. (Boring) Crowell.
Chuck was a member of the Eagles Aerie in Decatur, Indiana, and enjoyed playing pool.
He was a graduate of Parkway High School. Chuck was a welder by trade for about twenty years and traveled the United States as an escort vehicle for semis.
Chuck was a professional wrestler for ten years, his ring name was “Apoc”. Alongside his father and brother, they were D.J.’s.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn R. Crowell of Decatur, Indiana; son, James C. (Aurora) Crowell, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana; significant other of 20 years, Tonia Benge of Decatur, Indiana; step-son, William (Danyiel) Colbert of Fort Wayne, Indiana; step-daughter, Crystal (Christopher) Shaffer of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Steve (Lisa) Crowell of Rockford, Ohio; sister, Deborah Kelsey of Winchester, Indiana; sister, Katherine Wren of Winchester, Indiana; sister, Roberta Hobbs of Marshall, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Satorei Crowell, Airyana Crowell; Ashlynn Shaffer, Judith Shaffer, Elizabeth Colbert, Allysia Kinyon, and James Horj; and one great-grandson, Rylan Trendle.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Crowell.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana. Inurnment will take place at Willshire Cemetery at a later date.
