James Dewayne "Jim" Dean, 68, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his home.
Jim was born on February 27, 1957, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Hollie Thomas and Eunice Jean (Reedy) Dean.
He was a 1975 graduate of Williamsport High School and received an associate's degree from Hagerstown Junior College.
Jim was employed as a Correctional Officer at MCI until his retirement.
He was of the Christian faith and was a very hardworking man his entire life. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
Jim is survived by his brother Cameron D. Dean (Cindy); sister Deborah E. Rude; nephew Christopher Dean; niece Elizabeth Cline (Adam); nephew William Rude, Jr.; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Sheridan "Tom" Dean and nephew Matthew Evan Rude.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open starting at 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held privately.
