James Elmer Goldsborough, 79, of Pleasantville, Iowa, formerly of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025. Born on February 22, 1946, in Mechanicsville, Maryland, Elmer was the beloved son of the late Raymond and Catherine Goldsborough. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Susan Alberta Goldsborough; his brothers Sonny Boy, Thomas, Leonard, Robert, Charles, and Frank; his sisters Ann, Cecelia, and Nelly; and his grandson Jordan Huffman.
Elmer is survived by his loving children: sons James Willett (Jennifer Funaro) and Bradley Goldsborough, and daughter Kimberly Goldsborough. He was a proud grandfather to Zach Rinkart, Michael Willett, Crystal Sweeney (Goldsborough), Kayla Walter, Savannah Loughery, Dominique Sowers, Connor Sowers, and Izabella Goldsborough; and a doting great-grandfather to Eternity DeMarr, Heaven DeMarr, and Grace Sweeney. He is also survived by his brothers David, John, and Andy.
A skilled painter by trade, Elmer was known for his warm heart, easygoing nature, and love of life's simple pleasures. He found joy in singing karaoke at the Moose Lodge, feeding and watching squirrels and birds, enjoying westerns and country music, taking road trips, spending time at the lake, and most of all, being with his family. Elmer had a special way of making everyone feel welcome treating his children's friends as his own,
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor, and the family will share details with loved ones once arrangements are finalized.
Elmer's legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
