Jim Graves, age 64, a resident of Ripley, TN, passed away peacefully, on September 17, 2024, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. The Graves family is honoring his wishes for cremation.
Jim was born on July 2, 1960, to Sue Dauterman Young in Tiffin, OH. He worked as a Correction Officer in the Federal Prison System. He was a great fan of country music, and he loved attending concerts when he could. Traveling to Branson, MO and spending time in the mountains were two of his favorite things to do in life. He also enjoyed playing games on his computer.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his life partner Brenda Reese and one daughter, Joyce Kelley both of Ripley, TN. He also leaves a legacy of five grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Elrod; one son-in-law, Mike Kelley, and one brother, Robert Hoyer.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
