James N. Ivey, 87, of Wapakoneta, died Friday afternoon, July 11, 2025, at his home. He was born August 4, 1937, in Laurel Co., Kentucky, the son of Joe and Bernice (Parsley) Ivey, who preceded him in death. On January 23, 1981, he married Sandra E. Wallace and she preceded him in death on November 18, 2015.
Survivors include,
4 children, Barbara (Carl) Kephart, Wapakoneta,
Rick (Joannie) Lynn, Shawnee Twp., Allen Co., OH,
Annette Volz, Fremont, OH,
Charles E. (Jennifer) Webb, Fryburg, OH;
favorite grandson, Adam Leugers, Botkins, OH;
8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,
2 great great grandchildren and 1 on the way;
close friends, Harold and Renee Wilburn,
Corey and Stephanie Craig;
nieces, Pam Kirby and Kathy Cummins;
adopted daughters, Evonne and Tim Whalen, Terrie Wilburn, Nickie and Adam Bush.
Jim retired as a conductor with CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1533, Lakeview, OH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing rummy, and railroading. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield, with
Pastor Steven Ambrose officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, Wapakoneta, where condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
