Otis "Buzz" Preston Busby, Jr., 81, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Salem.
Buzz was born on August 28, 1943, in Center, Texas, to Otis Preston Busby and Bell Zora (Corbitt) Busby. He honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, a time that shaped his strong sense of duty and resilience.
He dedicated 25 years of his career as a sales representative for Sysco and Hostess Cakes. He later owned and operated 62 Dairy Freeze in Salem, Arkansas, for 14 years. Buzz was a member of Salem First Baptist Church.
Buzz loved spending time with his family and found great joy in gardening, landscaping, golfing, and shooting. He had a passion for motocross and jet ski racing, which he shared with his sons. His adventurous spirit and deep love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Busby of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Rusty Busby (Renae) of Salem, Arkansas, and Jim Busby (Christy) of Batesville, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Noah, Ezra, Joel, Crissy (Joey), Nick (Jennifer), and Brittany; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jayden, River, Ryder, Izaiah, and Kaylee. He is also survived by his brother, Billy Busby (Beth) of Piedmont, Alabama, and many other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Shelby.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Camp Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Ezra Busby, Joel Busby, Nick Busby, Jim Busby, Joey Cooper, and Rusty Busby.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
