James “Jim” L. Seubert, 91, Marathon, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wood Aven, Wausau.

He was born January 20, 1934, in Wausau, son of the late Hugo Sr. and Sophie (Michlig) Seubert. On September 1, 1958, he married Ann Austin at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2023.

Jim was a lifelong farmer who took great pride in working the land on his family’s homestead. He enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and was an avid basketball fan.

Survivors include his children, Steven (Pam) Seubert, Marathon, Karen (Brian) LeBlanc, Marathon, Susan (David) Mleziva, Nampa, ID, William (Stasia) Seubert, Edgar, Carla Roth, Wausau and Roger (Ann) Seubert, Marathon; son-in-law, Dan Knauf, Sun Prairie; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Nikolai, Neenah, many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents and wife, Ann, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Alice Seubert, daughter, Jane Knauf, brothers, LaVerne Seubert, Hugo Seubert Jr., sister, Mary Seubert, sisters-in-law, Joyce Seubert, Arlene (Seubert) Volhard and brother-in-law, Harold Nikolai.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the staff of Wood Aven for their kind, compassionate care given to Jim.
