James "Jock" Morton, 67, passed on June 28, 2025, at The Waters in Princeton, Indiana with his loved ones by his side. Jock was born on September 1, 1957. He was born in Huntingburg, Indiana to the late William "Bill" and Mariedith (Drury) Morton.
Jock loved many things, he loved to hunt, he love history, and reading. He always had a book in his hand and loved to learn and read about military history, he was able to tell you anything you wanted to know about it. Jock was a beloved son, father, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and loved ones.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mariedith Morton; and his nephews, Jason O'Neal and Nathan Houchin.
James is survived by his son, Christopher Morton; his granddaughter, Tara; his siblings, Frank (Teresa) Morton, David (Melody) Morton, Teresa (Stan) Houchin, and Debbie (Dan) O'Neal; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; he is also survived by a very dear friend Lana Pease.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Service will begin at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow, Indiana.
