James Lynden Mott, 81, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1943, in Zavalla, to Myrtle and Frank Mott.
James was a proud United States Marine and Vietnam Veteran, where he served as a Rifleman, and then received many awards. Once discharged from the military, he became a pipefitter until he reached retirement. James enjoyed many things, he enjoyed bow hunting and fishing, tending to his garden, going to the beach, and was a gun enthusiast. Most of all, James enjoyed spending time with his family and those he loved.
Survivors include his daughters, Meladee Coakley and her partner, Angela, of Pearland; Laura Milligan and her husband, Michael, of Winnie; brother, Roy Mott and his wife, Sandy, of Woodville; sister, Darlene Smart and her husband, Don, of Hardin; grandchildren, Loran Majors, Jamee Milligan, and Erin Milligan, all of Winnie, and Journey Collins, of Sante Fe, Texas; great-grandchildren, Irelynn Milligan, Coree Majors, Charlee Majors, and Lance Burnett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, of 28 years, Linda Mott; parents, Frank and Mrytle Mott, of Woodville; and brothers, Weldon Mott, of California, and Charles Mott, of Woodville.
A gathering of Mr. Mott's family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2025, at Broussard's, 134 West Buccaneer, Drive, Winnie, with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
