James Roberts Obituary

James C. Roberts, age 71 of Midland, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at MyMichigan Health. He was born in Midland on May 17, 1953 to the late Carl Richard and Viola June Roberts. James served his country honorably as a Medic with the United States Navy, embarking on two tours during the Vietnam War. He then went on to work as a Certified Surgical First Assistant with Mid-Michigan Medical Center. On May 14, 1987, he married the former Patricia Pelkey in Las Vegas.
James loved being outdoors with some of his favorite hobbies being hunting, fishing, and gardening. His family fondly remembers his wonderful cooking and his love for art. Most of all, James enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved them very much and he will be greatly missed.
James will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Roberts; children, Amber (Mike) Rapalje, Bryan Roberts, Molly, Tim, Christie, and Jill; grandchildren, Peyton, Lucas, Michael, Kennedy, Kaylee, Evan, Erika, Erin, Skout, Coda; great grandchildren, Ellen, Rosalie, Raelynn; sister, Vicki; brother, Jerry; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per James' wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be offered to a charity of one's choice.
