James Raymond Schafer "Jim" 82 of Kissee Mills, Missouri passed peacefully at his home on July 9, 2025, with his wife, Carol, and his family by his side.
James was born June 24, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to Emmett Schafer and Magdelena "Lena" (Weiler) Schafer. James married the love of his life Carol Mary (Kaatmann) on September 14, 1968, they celebrated 56 years together this past fall. They attended Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
James was a delivery driver for an electrical supply company.
James and Carol moved to the Kissee Mills area from St. Louis four years ago to be closer to family. They enjoyed the Ozarks, particularly living next to the lake. James enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV.
James is survived by his loving wife Carol Schafer; one son Mark Schafer (Sundii) of Kissee Mills Mo., one brother, Dan Schafer of Wentzville, Mo., one sister, Mary Meehan of St. Louis, Mo., and two grandchildren, Lilyana and Logan.
A celebration of life will be at a later date in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Missouri.
