James Washington Obituary

James Washington was born in Sumter County, AL, August 30, 1938 and was a resident of Biloxi, MS. He was a graduate of Nichols High School in Biloxi and served with the Biloxi Police Department. He retired as an over-the-road driver with The Coca-Cola Bottling Company, after more than 30 years of dedicated service. James Washington passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 86.
He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Johnson, mother, Monie Lee Johnson, brothers, Henry Washington, Monroe Washington, Robert Darrell Johnson, Rufus Johnson and Eugene Johnson, sister, Ruby Alberta Grant and nephews, Derale Delay and Henry Washington, Jr.
James is survived by daughters: Kimberly Page and Cheryl Washington Buckner; sister: Easter Faye (Bobby) Delay; nephews: George Washington, Paul Washington and Eugene Johnson, Jr.; nieces: Shun Grant Bean, Tunisia Grant Abraham, Erica Delay Moore, Sharice Johnson, and Lorraine Washington; grandchildren, Ashunti Page, Jaleir Ducksworth, Nevaeh Hayden; and a host of other relatives and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
