James W. Weber, age 78, of Lady Lake, FL and formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Sanford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on July 29, 1946, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, to James J. and Katherine Weber. He was raised in North Babylon, New York, and at the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Da Nang Air Force Base.
While stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, Jim met the love of his life, Susan David. After returning from Vietnam, they moved to New York and were married, beginning a life filled with love, family, and resilience.
Jim was a skilled craftsman and entrepreneur who built multiple homes and owned his own remodeling company in New York. Later in life, he worked at the University of North Dakota as a maintenance supervisor, a job he often described as the best he ever had. He took great pride in his work and valued being part of the UND community.
Jim especially loved spending time at his lake cabin on Cotton Lake, where he made lasting memories with his grandchildren and family. It was one of his favorite places to relax, connect, and enjoy the people he loved most.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, and their three children: James J. Weber and his wife Tricia, and their children Alexandria, James, Joseph, and Lucas; Christine Green and her husband Mark, and their children Ryan and Matthew; Michael Weber and his wife Rachel, and their children Andrew and Madelyn. He is also survived by sisters: Lillian Griffin and her husband Bill & Barbara Alfieri and her husband Joe; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. and Katherine Weber, and his in-laws, Joe and Lois David.
Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a veteran who served his country with honor, and a man of tremendous skill, humility, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on through the family he loved and the many people whose lives he touched.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite Veteran's organization or Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center.
