James Franklin Williams, 71, of Hilltop, West Virginia, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 12, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1953, in Lily, Kentucky, to the late Ernest and Edith Williams.

James was a retired coal miner, dedicating 44 years to the industry, and he was also a Baptist minister. Known for his humor, strength, and wisdom, he was married to his loving wife, Aleene Williams, for 53 years. He truly cherished spending time with his beloved grandkids and great-grandkids. His favorite gospel song was "The Dearest Friend I Ever Had," which he loved to sing with his wife, Aleene.

James is survived by his loving wife, Aleene Williams; his children, Joseph Williams of Hilltop, West Virginia, and Joshua and Elizabeth Williams of Scarbro, West Virginia; his granddaughters, Rachel Williams of Hilltop, West Virginia, Heather and Seth White of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and Serenity Conard of Scarbro, West Virginia; his great-grandchildren, Phoenix White, Raven White, and Mikael Meador; his sister, Phyllis Quinn of Rowan, Indiana; and his brothers, Ernest Williams Jr. and his wife, Bessie Williams, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, and Marvin Williams of Middlesboro, Kentucky. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." – 2 Corinthians 5:7-8
