Jane Evans, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Born on August 10, 1940, in Milwaukee to James and Mildred Kubal. Jane was the eldest of four daughters – Betty, Bonnie & Jeanne. She graduated from Wauwatosa East High School and later married her high school sweetheart, John Evans. Together, they built a beautiful life sharing 64 joyful years of marriage.
Jane and John lovingly raised three children—Peggy (Mark) Carollo, John (Lori) Evans, and Patti (Rob) Hutton. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren: Kathleen (Bill) Rather, Evan Carollo, Elizabeth (Peter) Ditter, Katryna Evans, Elena Evans, Ryan (Reagan) Hutton, David (Raegan) Hutton, Sarah (Trenton) Thompson, and Steven Hutton; and five great-grandchildren: Charlie and Eloise Rather, Roman and Clara Hutton, and baby Ditter on the way.
She had a gift for turning any place into a warm and welcoming home—whether in Brookfield, WI, or later along the shores of Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc. Her door was always open, inviting friends and family to gather, share meals, and create lasting memories. Through her remarkable skills in knitting, quilting, and sewing, she crafted countless heartfelt gifts and keepsakes for loved ones, and those in need.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Angels Grace Hospice for the compassionate care provided during Jane’s final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, 815 S. Concord Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066 or Angels Grace Hospice at N74W35908 Servants Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
