JANE ELIZABETH KLUENDER, age 77, of Pemberton, died on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on December 16, 1947, in Princeton, she was the daughter of I.O. and Dorothy (Wilson) Teigen. She attended Princeton High School, graduating with the class of 1965. Through mutual friends, Jane met Donald Kluender and shortly after, they were united in marriage on February 15, 1975, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Mankato. Together they made their home on the Kluender family farm where they raised six children. It was after having a family, Jane continued her education at Bethany Lutheran College and graduated with a Bachelors degree from Mankato State University, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
Throughout her life, Jane had various jobs, most recently at Herberger’s and Hobby Lobby. She was a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City. Jane enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She loved to spoil her children and grandchildren and cherished time with her family.
Jane is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald; children: Tammy (Steve) Olson of Milaca, Linda (Bill) Erchul of Maple Grove, Sara (Joe) Bortscheller of Eagan, Katie (Nick) Dumdei of Pemberton, and Michael Kluender of Pemberton; 12 grandchildren: Kim Olson, Kelly (Hope) Olson, Trey and Alex Erchul, Isabel, Isaac and Kate Bortscheller, and Peter, Grace and Sophia Dumdei; three great grandchildren: Molly, Owen and Claire Willis; brothers-in-law: Butch Lueck and Levi Gomez; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Emily Kluender; grandson, Andy Olson; grandson, Jacob Bortscheller; sisters: Mary Ellen Lueck, Karen Gomez, and Margaret (Steve) Sjoquist; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Linda Kluender.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at St. John Evangelical Church in Alma City with Rev. Robert Harting officiating. Interment will be at the Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
