Janet D. Antrim, 87, of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL, after a brief illness.
Janet was born on July 23, 1937, in Sycamore, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Gordon Olson. She married Fred L. Antrim on June 16, 1957, in Sycamore, IL. He passed away on January 29, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ron Olson, and one stepson, Denny Antrim.
Surviving are her children: Phillip (Becky) Antrim of Pittsburg, IL; Bill Antrim and Laura (Tim) Riley of both of Washington; Jason Antrim of Dahlonega, GA; and Eric Antrim of Peoria Heights, IL. Also surviving are six grandsons, Shawn, Brandon, Justin, Shane, Chad, and Chase. Further surviving are seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Deanne Harlow of Sycamore, IL.
Born and raised on a farm in Sycamore, Janet's early years were filled with the simple joys of rural life, which instilled in her a lifelong appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Every summer, she eagerly anticipated her vacations out West with her children, where they created enduring memories. These journeys were not merely escapes but a return to the essence of what she loved most, family, and the beauty of the natural world.
Janet was deeply committed to her faith.
Her roots ran deep at the family farm in Sycamore, IL where she was raised. Janet's return to the farm with her children provided an opportunity to connect them and to visit her parents.
She was a woman whose sweetness was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. To say that everyone loved Janet is no exaggeration. Janet's sweet nature was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Snyder Village for their compassionate care of Janet and her entire family.
The family will privately celebrate her life, and the burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name may be given to St. Jude’s or the American Cancer Society. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with arrangements. Sending my love and deepest sympathy for Janet's family. Wish I had known her longer, she was a sweet and delightful lady. What a beautifully-written obituary of love...she deserved that, abd it reflects so well on who she was. So grateful we shared the same hope for the future. With love, Terri Churchill / Highlands Congregation
