Janet Cannell Obituary

Janet S. Cannell,78, passed away on July 8, 2025, at Kingdom Care Nursing Home, surrounded by those who loved her most.
She was born on March 8, 1947, in New Florence, Missouri, to the late Carl and Mildred (Badger) Bethel, she was united in marriage to Carl Cannell Sr, who preceded her in death.
Along with a homemaker, Janie spent her career as a travel agent, and salon owner. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures of traveling, camping, playing piano and singing, solving puzzles, and enjoying games with those she loved.
Janie had a true gift for bringing people together. She loved hosting gatherings, always welcoming friends and family into her home. But her greatest joy in life came from her family and being called "Ma-Ma JC." Her warmth, laughter, and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.
Janie is survived by her sons, Carl "Bud" Cannell Jr, Lowe Cannell; sister, Carol Taylor, and grandson Dylan Cannell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Bethel, sister Debra Bethel, and brother-in-law, Ray Taylor.
Memorial services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, at 6:30 PM, with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
