Janet Eichel Obituary

Janet Lynn “Jenny” Eichel, age 70, of Stone Creek, passed away peacefully at her home on September 4, 2025, under the compassionate care of Traditions Hospice.

Born May 29, 1955, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Jenny was the daughter of the late Jessie Richard and Anna Lee (Higgs) Ennis. After completing her formal education, she married her husband of nearly 51 years, Robert W. Eichel, Jr., on September 13, 1974.

Jenny worked for over 30 years at Case Farms, where she dedicated herself to ensuring quality assurance and building lasting friendships with her colleagues. Outside of work, she was known for her warm, nurturing spirit and many passions. She found joy in crocheting, lovingly creating keepsakes for her family and friends. A familiar face at Midvale Speedway, Jenny kept time at the races for her family and supported their love of the sport. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert W. Eichel, Jr.; her children: Melody Ennis of New Philadelphia, Tammy (Donald) Rufener of Uhrichsville, Bobbie Jo (Erik) Kugler of New Philadelphia, Larry (Christina) Ennis of Strasburg, Christine (Bruce) Gibson of Midvale, and George (Kelly) Teischinger of Goshen; her grandchildren: Megan, Logan, Donald III, Tawnya, Tyler, Erika, Jennifer, Jinger, Larry Jr., Megan, Wesley, Haley, Kiley, Gage, Jessica, and Kerianne; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings: Mary, Alice, Delores, Darlene, Harry, and Penny; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Wesley Eichel, III; her granddaughter, Sara Lynn Kugler; and her brother, affectionately known as “Bumper.”

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. A celebration of Jenny’s life will take place the following day, Monday, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover.

Jenny’s legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. She will be missed beyond measure.
