Janet Parker Obituary

Janet Marie Parker 73, a resident of Independence and native of Richmond, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Rosewood at the Groves in Independence. Janet was born in Lexington on February 3, 1952, the daughter of Horace and Eva (Fletcher) Parker.
Janet is survived by her significant other, Ramon Williams of the home; two sons, Robbie (Keena) Bryant of Greenwood, AR and Astin Williams of Blue Springs; two daughters, Annette (Paul) Charles of Madison, AL and Monica L. (Victor Vidal) Herod of Highland Village, TX; 10 grandchildren, Skyler (Kayla) Charles, Mackenzie Charles, Kenna Herod-Vidal, Xavier Herod-Vidal, Dakota Bryant, Pierson Bryant, Jaxon Bryant, Keeton Bryant, Hudson Bryant, and Hadley Bryant; three great grandchildren, Leo Charles, Henry Charles, and Trenton Bryant; and one brother, James (Pat) Trainer of Wellington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Harlin, and one son, O'Shea Williams.
Janet graduated from Richmond High School and went on to work for the United States Postal Service, the Internal Revenue Service, and later at the casino. She was of the Christian faith and lived her life with love and joy, surrounded by family and friends.
Janet was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved spending time at the lake and the casino. She especially enjoyed traveling - taking cruises, visiting the beach, and going on trips with her family. Among her favorite pastimes were shopping for the best deals, growing and tending to her flowers, and spending time with her beloved dog, Cinnamon. She also looked forward to her son's car shows and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Known for her sweet tooth and fun-loving spirit, Janet enjoyed sipping on her favorite Kahlúa and cream and treating herself to chocolate. Her warmth, sense of humor, and love of life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation and funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 am followed by funeral services at 12:00 pm at St. John CME Church in Richmond. Burial follows funeral services in Richmond Memory Gardens.
