The world became brighter on September 22, 1931, the day Janet Edwards Reed was born in Seattle Washington. Sadly, Janet passed on May 16, 2025, with her immediate family present.
She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Ronald Reed and survived by daughter in law Merritt Reed, oldest son, Bruce Reed and his wife Frances, her daughter Nancy Reed and her wife Alice, granddaughter Kara Schoeppner and her husband Tim and great grandchildren Jameson and Claire Schoeppner, granddaughter Amber and husband Vince Frigerio, grandchildren Ronnie Johnson, Sabrina Dumas, Jason Delp…and her beloved Boston Terrier, Timmy (Nan has adopted Timmy).
Janet was a strong proponent of education, getting a bachelor’s degree at NMSU and master and PhD at Temple University in Pa. She loved adventure and traveled around the globe. She also loved biking, hiking, camping and exploring the outdoors. Jan was very active in the Children’s Alliance Reading Buddy program. She was full-spirited and will be missed.
Per her request no funeral or celebration will be held – she requested everyone enjoy a good meal with friends.
