Janice Johnson, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, left this world on July 2, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on October 25, 1954, in Perry County, Kentucky, Janice was the daughter of Ed and Gladys (Brewer) Combs, both of whom predeceased her.
Janice's laughter was infectious, her hands skilled in the art of quilting, and her love for animals knew no bounds. For over four decades, Janice dedicated herself to the field of long-term care, where she became a beacon of compassion and support to countless individuals and their families.
Her love story with Amos Johnson, Sr., spanned 50 years, a journey of partnership and mutual devotion that stood as an example to all who knew them. Together, they built a life filled with memories and a family that was her pride and joy.
Janice's legacy lives on through her children, Jennifer (Jerry) Albertson of Deputy, Indiana, and Amos (Beth) Johnson, Jr. of Austin, Indiana. Her siblings, James Wallace Combs, George Dwayne Combs, Nancy Lynn Centers, and Sandy Combs, two grandchildren, Zachary Michael Johnson and Olivia Grace Albertson, were the apples of her eye. Janice's stories, her quilts, and the lessons she imparted will be cherished by them for generations to come. Janice was also preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Ray Combs, Edward Burton Combs, and Irvin Combs.
Cremation was chosen, honoring Janice's wishes.
