Janice McBee of Quitaque, Texas joyfully entered the gates of Heaven on July 4, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Quitaque with Chris Tucker and Karen Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque.
Arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Janice was born October 15, 1946, in Matador, Texas, to Orval and Florene Cobb. She grew up in Quitaque, where she developed a strong faith, a deep love for family, and a heart for serving others.
A proud 1965 graduate of Quitaque High School, Janice went on to earn her degree in education from West Texas State University. Her calling as a teacher led her to touch countless young lives during her 33 years at Valley School. She was not only a dedicated educator but also a cherished mentor, coworker, and friend to many. Janice was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Quitaque.
On June 13, 1981, Janice married the love of her life, James "Butch" McBee. Their love story was one of true devotion and partnership, and together they built a beautiful life centered around their family for 38 years. She was a loving and supportive mother to their two children, Christopher McBee and Randa Green, and she took immense pride in her role as "Mimi". She adored her grandchildren and embraced every moment spent with them-whether it was cheering them on from the sidelines, sharing stories, or offering the kind of unconditional love only a grandmother can give. Her legacy of faith, love, and resilience lives on in each of them.
Janice is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James McBee, and her parents, Orval and Florene Cobb. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Chris McBee (Molly); her daughter, Randa Green, and husband Aaron; and her treasured grandchildren-Tailor, Kenadi, and Brylii Green. She is also lovingly remembered by her bonus grandchildren-Trenton, Troy, and Makenlee Fairchild-each who brought her great joy.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have shown love and support during this time, and a special thanks to the staff of Matador Nursing and Rehab, and also to Leila Cowdrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tri-County Meals, 220 Main Street, Quitaque, Texas 79255.
