Jean Hall Obituary

Funeral service for Jean Delores Hall, 86, of Geronimo, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Geronimo Baptist Church with Rev. John Cullison, pastor officiating.

Miss Jean went to be with her Heavenly Father on her birthday, August 3, 2025.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Viewing will begin on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jean was born on August 3, 1939 in Appalachia, Virginia. Her parents were Noble and Maggie (Mullins) Shell. She grew up in Norton were she attended school. and was active as secretary/treasure for her class. She also played high school basketball for two years. Jean was voted Miss Popularity in her class. After graduating high school in 1958, she worked for Dr. Bond's office for a while. She married Joseph E. Hall on March 30, 1961 and they lived in Norton until Joseph's military career took them to Alabama and Georgia before bringing them to the Lawton/Fort Sill area in 1969 where they have lived in Geronimo since. Jean worked for Tupperware and later worked for the First Bank of Chattanooga for many years before retiring in 2001. She was a faithful servant to the Lord. Being a member of the Geronimo First Baptist Church, she was very devoted to the church by working with Vacation Bible School, Children's Sunday School and was a cook for many Fall's Creeks trips. She could often be found reading and studying her bible. She enjoyed coloring and loved her family and loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Hall, Jr, of Geronimo, OK; her daughter, Elizabeth Hall, of the home; her adopted son, Jerry Chambers; her brother and sister in law, David and Gale Smith, of Navarre, FL; her sister, Paula Counts, of Hickory, NC; her grandchildren and their spouses, Cody Hall and fiance, Avery Groce, Archie Hall, Michael and Anna Kelley, and Lauren and Giovanni Riccardi; five great grandchildren; her nieces, nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph Hall; her sisters, Louise Addison and Barbara Ann Smith Kelly; her brothers and sister in law, Noble and Virginia Shell and Richard Alan Smith; and her special brother and sister in love, Richard and Mary Crow.
