Jean Kilgour Obituary

Suddenly at Kona Community Hospital on the evening of Sunday August 3, 2025, Jeanie Kilgour crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with her beloved Sammies - Tasha, Miska, Jinka, Chaddie, Rachie, Cheskie, Cammie and Sam. Born in Indianapolis, October 9, 1944, her father was the late Robert William Smith and her mother was the late Jean Hanley Smith Sager. Predeceased by her first husband Jerry Jana. Survived by her current husband of 34 years Murray Kilgour, their special 'daughters" Shawn (LA), Laura (MI) and Heidi (HI); and numerous members of the Kilgour, Noel, Malachowski, Hanley, Sager, and Wohlberg clans. As an adult, she lived in Berkeley, CA; Chicago, IL: Philadelphia, PA; Toronto (Canada), Petoskey, MI and Charlevoix, MI; finally settling in Kona, Hawaii in 2015. Avid SCUBA diver who completed 3123 dives mostly in her beloved Fiji, with her Matavuvale on M/V Sere-ni-Wai. Strong supporter of environmental and animal causes, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to REEF, CORAL, Seacology, Defenders of Wildlife or National Wildlife Federation are suggested. Private Cremation to be arranged in Hawaii for final dispersal in Fiji.
