Jeanette Abrahamson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2025.
Jeanette Ellen Abrahamson, a devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully in Joshua Tree, California, under the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law.

Born on December 5, 1930, Jeanette married the love of her life, Richard Abrahamson, with whom she shared a rich and loving marriage until his passing in 2001. Together, they raised their family in Diamond Bar, California, instilling strong values and love in their four children: Bruce Abrahamson, Brian Abrahamson, Kurt Abrahamson, and Susan Henry.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard, her sons Kurt and Brian, and her grandson Patrick Henry. Her strength and grace through loss were a testament to her unwavering faith.

She worked many years for the phone company and, after retiring, settled in Spring Valley Lake, where she was an active and beloved member of her church at Jess Ranch. In 2014, she moved to Joshua Tree to live with her daughter and son-in-law. There, she found renewed purpose volunteering in her daughter's classroom, where students fondly called her "Miss J." She was also an active member of Joshua Springs Church, where she found a spiritual home and community.

Jeanette's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter Susan Henry, her son Bruce Abrahamson, her grandchildren Jacklyn Thacker, Seth Abrahamson, Lucas Abrahamson, Sarah Jo Wilcox, and Alisa Abrahamson, along with 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and 3rd on the way.

Jeanette will be remembered for her kindness, her joyful spirit, and the faith that carried her through life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A service to celebrate Jeanette's life will be held at Sunset Hills 2400 Waalew Road Apple Valley Ca on May 23rd. Service at 12:00 Burial 1pm. Reception to follow At Seth and Tanya Abrahamsons home.

I have wonderful fond memories of my Aunt Jan and Uncle Dick. As a child we spent every holiday together as a family us Abrahamson's. We had a holiday and Dick and Jan's and then a holiday at Bill & Monna's with Gramps and Grandma Abrahamson who were always there with us. Jan would cook us the best holiday meals. I have very fond memories of growing up along side of my cousins and wonderful Holidays together. Rest in Peace Aunt Jan and enjoy being with those who are waiting with open arms.

I have fond memories of Jeanette. I would see her at the Jess Ranch church in Apple Valley during the yearly mother/ daughter lunches. Jeanette, Julie, my mom (Helene Yankle), Jeanette's daughter (Susan), Connie and her mom (Corrine) would sit at the same table and then be on kitchen patrol afterwards. I miss those get togethers. Jeanette was a class act and a strong, determined woman. She was so fortunate to have her daughter, Susan, and Susan's husband to help her out in her later years. Love and peace to you, Susan. I will try to get my sister to help me download some pictures.

Jeanette was everyone´s grandma at school. We all loved her and enjoyed her presence. The Lord be with all of you as you mourn her earthly loss but rejoice in her heavenly gain.
