Jeanette Alma Elsie (Woldt) Loppnow of Reedsville, WI, entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 94 years, seven months at Wayside Parkview Estates. The daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Klug) Woldt, Jeanette was born at home on November 22, 1930. She was baptized on December 7, 1930 at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church. She attended Wayside Zion Lutheran School, completing 7th grade, and then went to work for her parents at County Line Cheese factory.
For years, Jeanette dutifully washed milk cans, wrapped cheese and helped in the general store. Faith played a large role in Jeanette's life, and she was confirmed at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church on April 2, 1944. "As the father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him." (Psalm 103:13) served as her confirmation verse.
It seemed fitting that she met the love of her life, Edwin, at a church gathering. They had a long-distance relationship, corresponding through letters, during Edwin's time serving in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Upon his return from service, they were united in marriage on August 22, 1953, at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church. They were privileged to enjoy 58 years together.
Jeanette and Edwin purchased their own farm in 1960 and successfully operated it together until their son, Jeff, joined them as a partner and were able to semi-retire with him taking over the farm. Jeanette enjoyed traveling and playing cards (sheepshead) in multiple card clubs with family and friends. She was a very good bowler earning many bowling trophies at the lanes in Wayside over the years.
Jeanette loved her Lord and served on the Wayside Zion Lutheran alter guild for many years. She loved to bake and would be ready to entertain with delicious pans of bars, tortes or cookies ready in the freezer, at a moment's notice, for any occasion. She had a large garden and would preserve the bounty by canning and freezing. Jeanette was also a great housewife; she loved to keep everything neat and tidy.
She is survived by her son, Jeff (Colleen) Loppnow; extra special grandchildren Makayla and Caleb. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Erna Woldt, sister-in-law Sylvia Loppnow, brother-in-law Henry (Serene) Loppnow, sister-in-law Arlene (Dick) Burmeister, many nieces, nephews and friends. Godchild Amy (Hagenow) Ryan. Her beloved Shih Tzu, Oliver was her constant companion over the last 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin "Eddie" Loppnow (November 1, 2011), by three infant sons; father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry and Eleonora (Natzke) Loppnow, Sister Delores Woldt, brothers, Harold (Evelyn) Woldt, Orville Woldt, Elroy Woldt. Sister-in-law Norma (Rudolph) Dobberpuhl, brother-in-law Elmer Loppnow, sister-in-law Eldora (Melvin "Bud") Buchholz, brother-in-law Rev. Alvin Werre, nephews Robert Woldt, Mark Buchholz, John Loppnow, Godchildren, Carol (Boeder) Loppnow, and Gloria (Jaeger) Kane.
Friends and family may come to call on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Wayside Zion Lutheran Church, 8378 County W, Greenleaf, WI 54126, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jed McClellan officiating.
A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Wayside Church and School.
The family wants to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Wayside Parkview Estates for the remarkable care Jeanette has received over the last 3 years, Prevea Clinics, Unity Hospice, and special niece Diane Blashka for all the extra care and concern.
