Jeanne Marie Fier (Nuese) ObituaryJeanne Marie Fier, a vibrant spirit who graced Minnetonka, MN with her presence, passed away on July 8th, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 14th, 1953, in Hendricks, MN, to the late Vincent and Lorraine Nuese, Jeanne was the eldest of an impressive eleven children. Growing up on the family farm, she affectionately - and effectively - took on the self-appointed role of "the boss" to her seven brothers and three sisters, a testament to her natural leadership and nurturing spirit.
After graduating from Hendricks High School, Jeanne pursued early childhood development studies in St. Cloud, a path that undoubtedly honed her innate ability to connect with and care for others. Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, James (Jim) on July 6, 1974, embarking on their journey together. Their shared life led them through various cities before establishing their home in Minnetonka, where they raised their two beloved and spirited children, Stephanie and Scott. Even while dedicating herself to her family, Jeanne actively contributed outside the home, working at various companies in the human resources and finance fields.
Jeanne was truly a force of nature. Despite her petite stature, her personality was immense, characterized by an infectious smile, hearty laughter, and an unwavering desire to connect with those around her. Being in the company of others truly invigorated her soul. She possessed a remarkable gift for conversation, often delighting in lengthy chats that would "talk your ear off," a testament to her genuine interest in people's lives. Jeanne cherished social gatherings, affectionately referring to visits as "parties," and was always the first to suggest getting together. Many will fondly recall receiving a call that began with her signature, "Hey, whatcha doing? Why don't you guys come over and have some snacks and drinks with us?" She loved hosting, whether it was the boisterous family Thanksgiving dinners, cheering on sports teams with Jim (though conversation often took precedence to watching the game), or simply engaging neighbors in impromptu chats during their walks.
Jeanne will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by her devoted family and countless friends. She was preceded in eternal rest by her loving parents, Vincent and Lorraine, niece Brooklynn, and nephews Jaden and Justin. Left to carry on her vibrant legacy are her beloved husband of 51 years, Jim; her daughter, Steph (Steph Baumann); and her son, Scott. She is also survived by her ten siblings, who shared a lifetime of memories with her: Ron (Sandi), Mary (Chuck), Jerry (Teresa), Lois (Rick), Jim (Nancy), Alan (Connie), Gary (Ann), Keith (Robin), Carol (Brian), and Dave (Sandy), as well as her sister-in-law Sr. Candace Fier. A multitude of nieces, nephews, and their children will also carry her spirit forward, along with her cherished canine companion, Ricky Ricardo, who brought her so much joy.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday July 22 at St. Therese Church, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd. Deephaven, with visitation 1 hour prior Mass.
