Jeannette "Sissy" Bertie Ruth (Scruggs) Binkley, age 84, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born on June 3, 1941, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a homemaker. Jeannette loved cooking and baking. She would always go all out with anything she made in the kitchen. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid collector of bird music boxes. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Marylyn Stuart; father, William Morris Scruggs; husband, Tommy Binkley; son, Louie Maurice Binkley; daughter, Martha "Bonnie" Dowlen; and brother, Jerry Maurice Scruggs. Jeannette is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Binkley; stepsister, Martha Garrett (Johnny); grandchildren, Marvin Dowlen, Meagan Babcock (Ryan), and McKenzie Binkley; and great grandson, Kane. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bearwallow Community Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm and Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 9am until the service hour of 11am. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bearwallow Community Cemetery.
