Jeannie (Skaggs) Chadwick, 69, of Greenville, MO, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, July 3, 1955, to parents Jimmy and Eartha Skaggs.
Jeannie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend whose warm smile, generous heart, and joyful spirit touched countless lives. A proud graduate of Greenville High School, she made her life's work out of loving and caring for others-both through her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and in the many personal roles she cherished most.
On September 2, 2018, Jeannie married Roger Chadwick, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventures, and treasured memories, especially their shared love of antiquing and attending auctions.
Jeannie's greatest joy was being a mother, a journey that began with her first child being born on Mother's Day in 1981-a gift she always held dear. Her love extended far beyond her own children and grandchildren; to many, she was known affectionately as "Granny" or "Mamaw," a role she embraced with open arms and an even bigger heart.
Jeannie often reminisced about her childhood in Thompson Holler, surrounded by family and the strong, faith-filled influence of her Granny. She would say, "We didn't have a lot of material things, but we had each other." That spirit of love and togetherness defined her life.
A woman of deep faith, Jeannie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and found great joy in worship. During her time in Georgia, she was active in her church and choir, lifting her voice in praise-something her children fondly remember her doing at home and especially in the car, singing Billy Joe Royal's Down in the Boondocks and other favorites.
Known for her compassion and fierce advocacy, Jeannie was a nurse who truly cared for her patients. She wasn't afraid to speak up for them, whether they could or not. Her career was more than a job-it was a calling.
In her younger years, Jeannie was known for lighting up the dance floor. In every season of her life, her joy, warmth, and faith left a lasting impression on those around her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Johnny and Mike Yount.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of six years; her children: Randy Sanders and wife Jodi of Clarksville, TN, Matthew Ryan Sanders and wife Brandy of St. Charles, and Megan Sanders of Ironton; stepchildren: Mikki Sherrell of Cherokee Pass, Melanie Finnell and husband Fred of Jackson, Mike Sanders of Texas, Andrew Chadwick and partner Linda of St. Louis, and Steven Chadwick and wife Greta of St. Louis; grandchildren: Stacie Sanders, Donielle Johnson, Onas Yount, Brad Henson, David Yount, Amanda Berry, Hank Finnell, Layton Sanders, Olivia Bradford, Lydian Sanders, Penelope Sanders, Finley Chadwick, Brooklyn Chadwick, and Reed Chadwick; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother: Marty Yount and wife Laura of Clubb; sister: Jackie Woodruff and husband Woody of Illinois; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host friends.
Jeannie will be remembered for her strength, her love, her faith, and that ever-present smile. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
