Jeffrey Derr Obituary

Jeffrey Derr, of Blackwood, NJ, died of natural causes on June 26, 2025, at the age of 53. He was born in Chelsea, MA on July 12, 1971. He was a devoted son to his parents, Joan and Frederick Derr, a loving father to his son, Gavin Derr, and a caring brother to Chris Derr and his wife, Karen. His extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins will deeply feel his absence. He will be missed by his former spouse and friend, Stephanie Derr, a wide circle of friends, and a treasured network of colleagues, some of whom referred to him as the "Data God."
Jeffrey's " passion" for learning led him to Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree that helped launch a successful career in Information Technology. Over the years, he held a variety of roles in the field, culminating in his most recent position as a Business Systems Analyst at Fiserv in Wilmington, DE.
Throughout his life, Jeffrey's interests evolved from the thrill of biking, baseball, and soccer in his younger days to the serene enjoyment of golfing in more recent times.
Jeffrey's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire. He will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life's journey.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ. A prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by an informal celebration of Jeffrey's life, where the family invites the bereaved, to share memories of Jeff.
A luncheon will follow at Filomenas in Blackwood, NJ.
