Jeffrey “Jeff” Dimmel, age 68 of Shoreview, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025, surrounded by his family’s love.
Jeff was born in Mankato, Minnesota. He grew up loving the family farms in Good Thunder and Lake Crystal, and never lost that love. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1975 and then achieved his broadcasting degree at Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, MN. Jeff worked in sales and held positions for many years at both the Catholic Bulletin (now Catholic Spirit), in St. Paul and selling advertising for Autotrader. He was a “vehicle enthusiast” and enjoyed all kinds of motorized vehicles including speed boats, pontoons, autos, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, end-loaders, and even gliders!
Jeff married the love of his life, Lynette, and together they joyfully welcomed their daughter, Sierra. The three famously attended many festivals, art fairs, the Renaissance Fair, and of course, the Minnesota State Fair which they frequented multiple times every year.
Jeff coached his daughter’s youth soccer teams and was also an assistant coach for her basketball teams in her youth. With heart and devotion, he cheered her on in sports and all aspects of her life from grade school through college. As well as spending time with his family, he dearly loved to sing, garden, cook, play cards (Pfeffer), and he enjoyed civil war history.
Jeff began to have health challenges some years ago, but no matter what he faced, he did not let it slow him down. He fought to live life to the fullest and Lynette helped and supported him to be able to live his best life.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Lynette; daughter, Sierra, brother, Rick (Klara) Dimmel; sister, Lori (Owen) Dundas; niece, Kristina (Bennett) Rothenberg; nephew, Alex Dundas; stepsister, Carla (Sham) Persaud; stepbrother, Cal (Mary) Cammack; and other loving family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty (Blume) Cammack; stepfather, Derwin Cammack; father, Melvin Dimmel; stepmother, Sandy Dimmel; stepbrother, Cary Cammack; and stepsister, Jackie Baumgard.
A memorial service for Jeff will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25 at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 W. Roselawn Ave., Roseville. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 10-11 AM Saturday.
