Jeffrey Stock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory - Manitowoc from Jul. 27 to Jul. 30, 2025.

Jeffrey L. Stock, age 71, a Newton resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Illinois. He was born December 2, 1953 in West Bend, Wisconsin, son of the late Erwin and Bernice (Augustine) Stock. Jeff attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1972. On November 14, 1975, he married Katherine Jergenson at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2007. Jeff began his 46 year trucking career in May 1979 driving for Schneider Transport. He later went on to drive for Packerland Transport and Piontek Trucking before starting Jeff Stock Trucking in February 1995. Jeff drove under the CB handle "Little Bear". He was a lifetime member of the NRA, Viking Bow and Gun Club, and of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, where he also enjoyed singing in the choir. Jeff enjoyed guns, reloading ammunition, and target and silhouette shooting. He had a deep love for Dobermans, especially his dog Arnold. Jeff was also a very active napper and always enjoyed a quick snooze – even when out in the woods 'hunting'. Though he was a master procrastinator, Jeff balanced it with a perfectionist's eye. He was detail oriented and always made sure to tell his trucker stories exactly as they happened – "on Friday, February 12 at mile-marker 90". His sense of humor, while sometimes inappropriate, was something you could always count on to make you smile - that, and walking through the house and finding all the labels he had made with one of his many prized label makers. Jeff was a skilled mechanic and loved muscle cars and really just fast cars in general. He was a loving dad and grandpa and will be remembered for his cutoff shirts (even in the dead of winter), suspenders, NRA belt buckle, and always having a pen in his left breast pocket – "because a Trucker without a pen is a man without a pair of pants". Pa Stock, as he was lovingly referred to, is survived by his children: Tammy Stock, Holley (Michael) Jeske, and Adam Stock (significant other Shayla Wachholz); three grandchildren: Myrrah Robinson, Garrett Jeske, and Taylor Jeske; his brother: Timothy Stock; and his dog Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents: Erwin & Bernice; his wife: Katherine; and good friends: Wally Haw and Tom Lalko. Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, 6524 County Road C, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. James Grossmann. Following the service, Jeff will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery, Newton. Immediately after the burial there will be a celebration of life at The Hideout, 4131 Clover Rd, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, Manitowoc.
