Jeffrey Zelenkow Obituary

Jeffrey Zelenkow, 71, of South River, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Born in New Brunswick and raised in South River, Jeff remained a lifelong resident of the town he loved.
Before retiring, Jeff worked as a Lab Technician in the research and development division at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he was known for his dedication and skill. A man of many talents and passions, Jeff was an avid deep-sea diver, embarking on memorable adventures including dives in the Nile River in Egypt and the Chuuk Lagoon in the Central Pacific. He also cherished traveling with his brother, especially their trips to California.
Jeff was a gifted woodworker and carpenter who generously shared his skills with friends and family, always willing to lend a hand in remodeling projects big or small. His creativity, warmth, and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Wasily and Yolanda Zelenkow. He is survived by his brother, Richard Zelenkow; his sister, Arlene Kennedy; his nieces, Jennifer and Paige; his great nephews Finlay and Sean and his lifelong best friend, Chris Shaw.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River. A graveside service and burial will follow on Saturday at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
