With much sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Jeffry A. Russell, 56, of Littleton, NH, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on July 9th, 2025. The son of Stephen and Joan (Taylor) Russell, Jeffry was born in Dover, NH, the youngest of six children.
Predeceased by his parents and brother Stephen, Jeff leaves his beloved son, Stephen Russell, of Dover, as well as his loving fiance, Teri Lashua Dimas, of Littleton, and her children and grandchildren. Also, he leaves his siblings, Ellen (Ernie) Horne, of Rochester, Kathy (Dan) Bryan, of Naples, ME, Marilyn (Bob) Sherwood, of Dover, and Thomas Russell (Becky), of Rochester, all his nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and dear friends Mary Rhinehardt, Roger LaVault, and Judith Syria, among many more.
Jeff was a man of many talents. He loved baking in the kitchen and grilling outside, always upping his culinary game. As a member of the Dover High School Class of 1986, he loved football and proudly tackled all four years for Dover's team, even making the Shriner's All-Star Team his senior year. Also, as an accomplished, left-handed dart thrower, affectionately nicknamed "Big Dog" and "Big Man", Jeff's expert skills were featured on the high-pressure, nationally televised ESPN 2006 World Series of Darts tournament.
Together with Stephen's mother, Tracy Abbott, Jeffry pitched in much time and effort for the Boy Scouts of America, while supporting their son in attaining the challenging Eagle Scout rank. Jeff was den leader and mentor for Stephen and other scouts. They would work on their design all year to outdo themselves at the annual Pine Wood Derby race car event. They had fun fishing, camping, and competing with each other target shooting. Jeffry and Stephen (aka "Mini Jeff") were inseparable.
Jeff was close with his mom, helping her for many years after his dad passed away. His Pomeranian-mix, Rocky, would make his whole face light up. Jeff was a generous, kind and loving person with a reassuring, deep voice and infectious smile, devoted to his fiancé, Teri. He didn't have a snobby bone in his body and his love language was service to others. He giggled a lot and gave great hugs! Jeff will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeffry's name are suggested to New Hampshire SPCA, Scouting America New Hampshire or American Heart Association.
A time of visitation will take place at Tasker Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 11am-1pm. The memorial service will start at 1pm, with a graveside at Pine Hill Cemetery to follow. The family requests attendees to dress in their favorite team shirts, bright colors, or traditional style.
