Jeran Russell Batton, 33, died on July 20th, 2025, at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He was born on September 17th, 1991, in Alta View Hospital Sandy, Utah. He married Triney Marie Martinez. They were married in Salt Lake City on July 2nd, 2017. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved husband, dedicated father, cherished son, adored grandson, protective big brother, and fun-loving nephew, cousin and friend. After a year-long, valiant battle with two cancers, he is at peace. Jeran was born and raised in Utah county, always a delight with a wise soul. He was strong and always willing to help others. He loved to play jokes, swim, explore, and laugh. He attended high school in Spanish Fork where he met his best friend, Triney Martinez. Jeran was always up for an adventure and went to Montana where he studied culinary arts. He also worked as a forest fire fighter in the summer. He soon realized friendship can turn to deeper relationships, and found love with his best friend. Together they lived in Coeur D'Alene and had their first son, Robert(9). They returned to Utah and he married Triney in 2018, at a romantic setting in the mountains. Jeran was a dedicated father, working hard to provide and care for his family. He went back to school and was trained as a machinist. He was driven to do the best he could to provide for his family. They were further blessed with a daughter Lily(5) and another son, Nikolai(3). He loved his children fiercely and made it his mission to provide and care for them. He was very proud to work hard and achieve his goals of building airplanes with Boeing. All the while, finding laughter and love along the journey. He was an artist, a dreamer, a joker, and an optimist, no matter the situation. A year ago, he received the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis of osteosarcoma. Despite being given a grim prognosis, Jeran was positive and fought to hold on to every day. Through unfathomable amounts of pain, all day, every day, he held to hopes and dreams of a future with his family. After unsuccessful chemotherapy and radiation, he was diagnosed with a second cancer of acute leukemia in June. Again, he stayed positive and chose to keep fighting for more time with his family. He was, and is, loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Ofa atu. Love is forever. Survived by wife Triney Martinez and 3 children Robert, Lily, and Nikolai (ages 9,5, and 3). Mother and father Vanessa and Kevin Dexter. Siblings Cameron, Alex, Alyssa, Sabrina, Elizabeth, Maygan and Abigail. Grandmother LeAnn Hunt. Step siblings Laura (Stephen), Cameron Andrew (Megan), Sara (Cody), Connor. Preceded by Grandfather Russell Hunt. Celebration of Life service will be held on August 2nd, 2025 at 12pm at 1330 Ira Hodges Scenic Pkwy, Eagle Mountain, UT 84005 Thank you to extended family and friends who blessed their family with service and love and selfless time given during his difficult battle with cancer.
