Jeremiah Eugene Ackerman 46, son of Don and Donna Ackerman of Independence, Missouri died on July 5th, 2025 in Sugar Creek, Missouri. He was born on February 17th, 1979 in Independence, Missouri. Jeremiah was the father of five children, Jeremiah Lewis Ackerman 24, of the home, and Madison Hope Closson 20, of the home, Alecia Carson 14, and Alesha Perez 14, of Lawton, Oklahoma, Kamiah Shiann Ackerman 12, of Independence, Missouri, and one step daughter Alene Hines 27, of Kansas City, Missouri.
He had three grandchildren, Emery Ackerman, Independence, Missouri, Eli Ackerman of Stockton, Missouri, Javon Hines who lives in Arkansas, and a step grandson, Kia Hines of Kansas City, Missouri.
As a boy, Jeremiah became an Eagle scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and earned 126 merit badges. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and other sports. As an adult, he was a skilled carpenter and not only used his talents professionally but also in the ministry called Built for Jesus who mostly helps widows and senior citizens with home repairs. Also, he volunteered his time at Grace Church in Independence, Missouri, remodeling, painting and more. He was proceeded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his granddaughter Lilyanna Rose Closson.
A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday July 26th at 10:00. It will be at the
First Baptist Church of Buckner, Missouri, 131 South Hudson Buckner, Missouri 64016.
