Jerroldine (Jerry) M.Knutson, age 89, of Burnsville, Minnesota, died on July 13th, 2025. Preceded in death by husband, Howard, sister-in-law, Debbie Sundby, brother-in-law, Roald Knutson, and brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Tekla Knutson. Survived by children, David (Laurie), Doug, Eric (Diane), Annette, and Amy (Steve) Austin; grandchildren, Annie (Alex) Kopplin, Natasha Simmons, Tim (Jess) Knutson, Megan (Mike) Audette, Sydney (Christian) Fregoso, Marques Jones, and Melik Nelson; great-grandchildren, Jamier, Elsie, Willa, Koen, Tyce, Audrey, Ford, Holden, Paul, and Maria; brother John (Dee) Sundby; sister-in-law, Carole Knutson; and seven special nieces and nephews. Jerry was born and raised in Minneapolis. She graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in1953, then earned her B.A. from the U of MN in 1958. She married Howard Knutson in 1958 and the family moved to Burnsville in 1964. Jerry worked for the MN Department of Corrections at the Shakopee Women's Prison for 24 years. Jerry returned to school and received her M.A. in Public Administration from Hamline University in1992 at the age of 56. Jerry was an active leader in several organizations including The Girl Scouts, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Wilderness Canoe Base, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She and Howard loved adventure, especially camping and visiting other parts of the world. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18th, at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church,13901 Fairview Drive, Burnsville. Visitation at 10:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville, Fairview Ridges Hospital, Wilderness Canoe Base, or Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp in Amery, Wisconsin.
