Jerry Dean Hansen, age 84, of Rockwall, TX, passed away at his home on July 11, 2025, with his beloved family by his side.

Born on April 13, 1941, in Oelwein, Iowa, Jerry was the son of Gerhard Hansen and Marjorie (Taylor) Hansen. He grew up in Iowa with a strong sense of discipline, hard work, and integrity - qualities that would guide him throughout his life. He carried these values into his service in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country. During his time in the Marines, Jerry earned two Good Conduct Medals and was distinguished as both a rifle sharpshooter and a pistol expert, accomplishments he took great pride in.

After his military service, Jerry continued his commitment to excellence by pursuing higher education. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a Bachelor's degree in Business. His education laid the groundwork for a successful career in electronics manufacturing management, where he was known for his leadership, work ethic, and ability to mentor those around him. Jerry always had a sharp mind for details and a steady hand for problem-solving.

On February 15, 1958, Jerry married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Welsh) Hansen, in Fairbank, Iowa. The two shared an incredible 67 years of marriage, building a life rich with love, family, and partnership. Together, they raised three sons: Jeff, John, and Jim. Jerry was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, always prioritizing his family.

Jerry had a variety of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid reader, always eager to learn something new or get lost in a good book. He rarely missed a Dallas Mavericks game, proudly supporting the team through wins and losses alike. Above all, his greatest joy came from being with his family. Whether it was cheering on his grandchildren at events, catching up over a home-cooked meal, or simply spending quality time together, Jerry treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

Jerry was a man of his word, a steady presence, and someone his family and friends could always count on. His memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Gerhard and Marjorie Hansen, and his sisters, Marion Kraft and Helen Richards.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hansen of Rockwall, TX; his sons: Jeff Hansen and wife Michelle of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; John Hansen of Amarillo, TX; and Jim Hansen and wife Jane of Tomball, TX.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Sara Weaver and husband Jonathan of Mead, OK; Melissa Micnhimer and husband David of Lakewood, CO; Brian Hansen and wife Ally of Houston, TX; Erin Hansen of Del Valle, TX; and Daniel Hansen of Austin, TX.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Jayce Weaver, Elsie Weaver, Samuel Micnhimer, and Vivian Hansen.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jerry's memory to Helping Hands Food Bank, 990 Williams Rd, Rockwall, TX 75087 - a cause close to his heart.

A graveside service will be held 12:00pm, Friday, July 25, 2025 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, TX. Following the graveside service, there will be a luncheon at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX at 1:15pm in the Holy Family Center.
