Jerry Lewis Obituary

Jerry Lee Lewis was born February 13, 1948 in Lebanon, Missouri, to Vernon and Edna Bradford Lewis. He departed this life on July 16, 2025 in his Lebanon home at the age of seventy-seven years, five months and three days.
Jerry joined the United States Marines on February 21, 1966. His first tour of duty was from January 1967 to August 1967 on an aircraft carrier, serving as a security guard. His second tour of duty was from April 1968 until March 1969 in the mountains of Vietnam in the DMZ. In March of 1969, he suffered numerous shrapnel wounds to both legs after being blown out of his fox hole. Jerry was awarded a Purple Heart. In August 1969, he was promoted to Sergeant. He served again from August 1970 until January of 1971.
After his departure from active duty with the Marines, he continued his career at Detroit Tool Metal Products where he worked from May 26, 1971 until January 2010 when he retired. He worked his way up from a press operator, to quality control supervisor, to customer service representative. Jerry was a hard worker and enjoyed his time at Detroit Tool. He made many friends there and in many cases, those friends were like family.
Jerry was united in marriage to Lisa Luttrell on May 15, 1975. They were fortunate to share fifty years of wonderful memories together.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Edna Lewis; his brother, Jim Lewis and his sister, Gloria Norman.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Lisa Lewis; his children, Jason and Lori Lewis, Amber and Lewis Pennington and Chad and Robin Lewis; his grandchildren, Gavin and Catherine Lewis, Grayson, Gunner and Granger Lewis, Brittany and Logan Woodward, and Jocelyn, Jerricha, Jonah and Josiah Lewis; and one great-grandchild, Avery Woodward; and other relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
Jerry loved his family and loved his country. He was a caring and trusted neighbor and friend. He worked hard and always tried to do the right thing. He leaves a legacy of love and loyalty that will be remembered for years to come.
A Memorial Service for Jerry Lewis will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Scrivener Cemetery in Windyville with full military honors..
