Jerry was born on Tuesday, September 05, 1944 in Ferriday, LA. and passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 in Vicksburg, MS. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jerry was a simple man who found joy in the quiet of the outdoors. If it wasn't deer season, you could still find him out in the woods, piddling around the camp, getting everything just right for when the season came. But nothing meant more to him than his grandchildren. Around their busy schedules of ballgames and tournaments, Jerry showed up without fail-cheering loudest from the sidelines, proud of every win and just as supportive in every loss. He balanced his love for the woods with an even greater love for family, and that's what made him truly special. Jerry lived simply, but loved deeply.
He is reunited with his parents, Lonnie Poole and Ethel Taunton Poole; wife, Margaret Poole; brothers, Burl Poole, Murrell Poole, and Reginald Poole; and sisters, Mae Poole and Retta Poole.
Those left behind to cherish Jerry's memories are his sons, Richard Allen Poole and his wife Denise of Lakeland, TN and Jeffery Lambert Poole and his wife Kim of Celina, TX; daughter, Allison Poole Williamson and her husband Michael of Rayville, LA; brothers, James Poole of Texas and Paul Poole and his wife Carolyn of Ferriday, LA; sisters, Alpha Blunt of Tyler, TX and Nelva Moss and her husband Kent of West Lake, LA; grandsons, Tyler Poole, Adam Poole, Payton Poole, Justin Poole, Jesse Poole, Brier Williamson and Barnes Williamson; granddaughters- Molly Poole and Kinley Williamson; great-grandsons- Jaxon Poole, Paxton Poole and Beaux Riley Barton and a great-granddaughter-Kolby Kellen Poole; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Poole, Adam Poole, Payton Poole, Jesse Poole, Justin Poole, Brier Williamson, Barnes Williamson and Jaxon Poole.
The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2025 and from 12 noon til service time Saturday.
