BAXTER CHAPEL-Jesse Matthew James Bowen, a bright and cherished young soul, was born on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He departed this world far too soon at the age of 3 months, passing away at his home in Bloomington Springs, Tennessee, on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Jesse was a spirited little boy who brought joy to everyone around him. Known for his playful nature, he delighted in showing off his little muscles, embodying a lively spirit that radiated warmth and happiness. His caring and protective demeanor was evident in the way he looked after his beloved big sister, Joshalynn Kay Bowen. His propensity for smiling often left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Matthew and Jessica Montgomery Bowen, who raised him with love and affection in Bloomington Springs. Jesse's family also includes his sister, Joshalynn; his grandparents, Sheila Simpson, Charles Hancock, and Melissa and Jake Scott; and his great-grandparents, Shirley Parks, Jean Jeffers and Odell Scott. He was embraced by an extended family that included his aunts and uncles: Della Gilreath, Mary Gilreath, Megan Bowen, Morgan Johnson, Chad Hancock, Josh Hancock, Brittany Hancock, and Chris Scott, along with great aunts and uncles: Margie Lynn, Lola Harris, Glenda Hopkins, Sherry McBroom, John Montgomery, and Joey Parks.
The community is invited to join in celebrating Jesse's short yet impactful life during his visitation on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Baxter Chapel, located at 532 4th Street, Baxter, Tennessee. Bro. Seth Presley will officiate. Burial will follow in Rodgers Cemetery in Baxter.
Jesse's memory will live on through the love and support of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the short time they had with him.
