Jesse Ferguson, 82, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:00 AM on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. He was born on June 15, 1942 in Brookfield, Missouri the son of Albert "Elgin" and Lois R. (Head) Ferguson. He attended and graduated from ROVA High school in Oneida, Illinois. He married Darlene R. Yeast on May 30, 1961 at the Christian Church in Galesburg, Illinois. Surviving is his wife, Darlene Ferguson of Knoxville, Illinois, two children: Jodi Moshier of St. Augustine, Illinois and Joel (Tammy) Ferguson of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren: Cory (Danielle) Moshier, Kyle Moshier, Jerod Ferguson, and Kaycee Ferguson; three great grandchildren: Karev Moshier, Jade and Aleana Ferguson; one brother, Jason (Amy) Ferguson of Wataga, Illinois; three sisters, Paula (Dennis) Martin of Arizona, Toni West of Galesburg, Illinois and Tami Clewell of Galesburg, Illinois; and his special friends, Tina Grohmann and family of Gilson; and a special friend whom was like a son, Matt Howard of Knoxville. He worked for Railway Express for 3 ½ years, then the former Gates Rubber Company for 37 ½ years, his part-time jobs included the former Simpson-Powelson in Knoxville, Illinois and Willis Steel Corp. of Galesburg, Illinois and help area farmers. After retirement he worked for Grohmann's Tree Service in rural Gilson, Illinois and Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville and Oneida for many years. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois, with Randall Blair officiating. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Christian Church, Knoxville, Illinois. Fellowship with family and Friends will be held at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois following the Graveside Services at the Cemetery. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is assisting the family with his wishes.
