Jessie Ray Ledbetter, 90, of Lamont, CA passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 in his sons home surrounded by his family.
Jessie was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on September 10, 1934, son to the late Cleveland Jefferson Ledbetter and Lilly Mae O’Leary Ledbetter.
Jessie served in the United States Army during WWII and was a farmer all his life. His last place of employment was Porter Farms in Arvin, CA. He loved Nascar, Coloring, Sunday drives, but mostly he loved his family and he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Imojean Ledbetter, a son, Leonard Ray Ledbetter, siblings, Pearl, Opal, Catherine, Bea, Mildred, Beatrice, James, Wesley, Barbara and Gerald, a grandchild, Aurora German.
He is survived by his children, Lillie Marie Ledbetter, Connie (Robin) Emery and James (Kathy) Ledbetter; grandchildren, Tamatha (Michael), Bobby (Emma) and Lillie (Charlie); great grandchildren, Blake Maultsby, Allen Maultsby, Barry Allen German, Alice Maultsby, Hanna Emery, Jack Emery, Killian Beard and Samuel Emery; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Visitation will be held, 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
Graveside service will be held in Bakersfield National Cemetery, Arvin, California at a later date.
