Jewell Annette Highshaw Frazier Ross passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 74, at her residence. Born on December 15, 1950, Jewell lived a life marked by devotion to her family and an unwavering faith in God.
Under the leadership of her grandfather, Lee Highshaw, Jewell accepted Christ at a young age and joined the First Baptist Church in Smackover. As a woman of deep faith, she was an active member of the church serving as a choir member, choir director and Sunday School Superintendent. She was known for her God-Fearing nature, fun loving spirit and kindness. She was always ready with a warm smile and helping hand anywhere she was needed. She was also a devoted member of the Smackover Community Choir and the Smackover Training School Alumni Association.
Jewell later met and married Donald Frazier. To this union, four children were born. Later in life, she united in holy matrimony with Fred Ross. Her career spanned several respected companies including, AP&L, Prescolite and Milbanks, where she made numerous lasting contributions.
Jewell is preceded in death by her parents; O.W. and Myrtle Highshaw; sister, Myrtle Highshaw; and brothers, Carl and Oren Highshaw.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Ross; her children, LaDonna Bonier, Kenna Gulley, Julian (Allison) Frazier, Carlos (Kiffney) Frazier and her bonus son, Simon (Jamice) Turner; her sister, Majorie Highshaw; her aunt, Carolyn (George) Harris; six sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; ten grandchildren; four bonus grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; one niece; four nephews; numerous cousins; and a host of special friends and "sisters".
An avid reader, Jewell also had a passion for flowers/plants and enjoyed fishing and activities that brought great joy and peace to her life. Whether she was a lifelong friend, co-worker, family/church member or brief encounter, she left an indelible mark on your life. She was considered a friend and family to many. She will be missed by all!
